Preta Anticato

In this version, Preta takes on a “Shabby” connotation. The painting is done by “dipping” or in a color bath, but first the master performs the antique finish with a brush. Each procedure is done by hand, making each individual object unique and unrepeatable. The piece, together with the antique finish, is completed with a brush with a brown edge and dipped in crystalline before the second final firing at 960°. The manufacturing of these products is done with artisanal and non-industrial processes. Arcucci ceramic supports, enameled and decorated, with a white base, rich artisanal enamel with native minerals, decorated manually with a wide range of warm and bright colors, obtained from natural oxides and with the use of different manual techniques. The “biscuit” is made with a press, with sophisticated automatic equipment. Gypsum molds are used, this material, in fact, absorbs the water of the wet mass. Subsequently the body of the ceramic contracts and can therefore be easily extracted from the mold. This process requires both skill and accuracy, as well as particular technical training. Like Porcelain, it undergoes the first firing to become biscuit at 750-800 °C, to then be glazed and subjected to a new firing at 850-1100 °C. The use of lower temperatures allows majolica to create bright and brilliant colors and glazes.
